Over the years there have been many ‘methods’ of childbirth. Even though this word ‘HypnoBirthing®’ may conjure up thoughts of being hypnotized during labour and not remembering your birth, it is, in fact, quite the opposite.
It was founded by Marie Mongan, who states:- “The HypnoBirthing® program explodes the myth of pain as a natural accompaniment to birth. It proves that when we release the fear, a fear that is keeping our body tense and closed, we will experience gentle birth.
"The HypnoBirthing® program is nature, not manipulation. It relaxes the mind in order to let the body work. The HypnoBirthing® exercises – positive thinking, relaxation, visualisation, breathing and physical preparation – will lead to a happy and comfortable pregnancy. At Birth Right™ we believe the deep relaxation that is learned in HypnoBirthing® classes is a useful life skill. You can take these exercises and apply them to all aspects of your life. It can be especially beneficial when you are a new parent.
